James Lockwood is a self-taught photographer, based in New York and working between there and Los Angeles in addition to working in international locations.
James' career began in the music business working between major labels and his own indie. After taking pictures of friends, live music, and being the designated moment capturer on different trips, his journey took a formal turn towards photography. And more specifically as an outré photographer for all things exploring shadow as much as light, avant-garde, unique, or otherwise idiosyncratic. Now, for the first time, James is publishing selected images from his archives newly online and is available for new commissions.
